I conduct thorough accessibility audits using WCAG guidelines, employing both automated tools and manual assessments. This is a process of identifying and remediating digital barriers, ensuring seamless compatibility with assistive technologies and implementing best practices to enhance usability for individuals with diverse abilities.
Information Architecture & Wireframing
Development of user-centric information structures and wireframes to enhance navigation and usability. Delving into precise user flows and crafting logical layouts that proactively address user needs and reduce cognitive strain. I work to ensure each meticulously designed wireframe offers effortless interaction and seamless navigation on digital platforms.
Prototyping & Usability Testing
Crafting interactive prototypes for user testing and iterative improvements, ensuring a seamless user experience. Using tools like Figma and InVision, I develop high-fidelity, clickable prototypes that simulate real-world user interactions. Through systematic usability testing, critical feedback can be gathered to make data-driven design refinements that optimize user satisfaction.
UI Design & Style Guide Development
Creation of visually appealing and consistent interfaces that align with brand identity and user preferences. I create comprehensive design systems and style guides that establish clear visual language, color palettes, typography, and interaction patterns. This ensures brand consistency and creates cohesive, aesthetically pleasing user interfaces across all digital touchpoints.
User Research & Persona Development
Employing a user-centric design approach to uncover deep insights and create impactful personas. I utilize diverse range of qualitative and quantitative research methods, including in-depth user interviews, contextual inquiries, surveys, analytics, and more, to deeply understand user needs, behaviors, pain points, and motivations. These rich insights are then synthesized into detailed, data-driven user personas that guide every strategic design decision, ensuring the solutions I create seamlessly meet the target audience's requirements.

About Me
My UX Journey
My journey into UX was sparked by a deep-seated desire to alleviate the frustrations that often accompany our increasingly digital world. Having navigated the rapid evolution of technology for much of my life, I recognized the inherent purpose of digital experiences, to simplify and enhance life. I feel compelled to contribute to that ideal.
First Truly Bad Design Experience
A pivotal moment in the Marine Corps vividly illustrated the profound consequences of poor design. Witnessing how a seemingly simple red "destroy" button on a prototype device, coupled with inadequate training, could lead to disastrous outcomes on the battlefield, solidified my belief in the critical role of intuitive design.
Professional Background
This conviction, combined with my background as an undergraduate psychology researcher – where I honed my understanding of human behavior and cognition – naturally led me to the field of UX. Prior to this, my experience as a digital experience manager and buyers agent in real estate in Houston, TX, provided firsthand insight into user needs and the importance of seamless digital interactions. My years in the food and service industry further cultivated my ability to understand and empathize with diverse user needs, while my time as a safety valve technician instilled a meticulous attention to detail and the potential impact of even small design flaws.
My Greatest Role
The most rewarding role I have ever had the honor of filling is that of "Dad". Fatherhood has been a transformative experience, significantly developing my empathy and patience to levels I never thought possible. Through lots of love and hardship, I've discovered a deeper well of resilience. This personal journey has enriched my capabilities as a researcher, designer, and, most importantly, as a human being.
UX Philosophy
My UX philosophy is deeply rooted in user-centered design, driven by a core desire to uncover and address underlying problems to create truly impactful solutions. I'm passionate about crafting intuitive experiences, tackling complex challenges, and being a strong advocate for the end user.
Unique Skill Set
What sets me apart is my adaptability and proven ability to solve unique problems, honed through my diverse experiences. I bring a strong foundation in research and usability testing, complemented by a keen eye for UI creation, developed in part through my early studies as an art major and later refined during my Master's in UX from Kent State University.
Personal Interests
Outside of the digital realm, I'm an avid enthusiast of outdoor adventures with my family, from motorcycle rides and hiking to snowboarding and cave exploration. My passion for console gaming also fuels my understanding of engaging and immersive user experiences.
